Our Vision
Our vision is to foster the development of Gloversville as a dynamic city of thriving neighborhoods, providing a variety of housing choices and accommodating a diverse population. The Gloversville Housing & Neighborhood Improvement Corporation accomplishes this by providing essential housing programs & projects to create decent, safe, affordable housing – whether through home ownership or rental opportunities — or by working in partnership with all members of the community to create vibrant neighborhoods.

As a not-for-profit organization with a mission of creating thriving neighborhoods in the city, Gloversville Neighborhood Improvement is organizing community members to work on urban forestry outreach in order to increase the number of street trees throughout the city.

Community Garden

The Community Garden

In pursuit of our goal of improving the neighborhood’s quality of life GH&NIC sponsored the creation of a community garden at Fremont Street in Gloversville in the summer of 2013.

This Project brought the neighborhood together for a common cause and a shared reward.

land bank

Land Bank Program

The Gloversville Housing & Neighborhood Improvement Corporation proposes to create a city land bank program for a single purpose: to acquire, manage, maintain, and repurpose vacant land, and/or abandoned, and foreclosed properties in a responsible way to prevent the continued destabilization of blighted neighborhoods.
